I was watching this video yesterday at the farm of my neighbours (who look after my donkeys when I go away on trips) and here Kike Garvi gives probably the best master class in the qualities of the Andalusian breed. The video doubles as a class in expert equine coat clipping, by Manuel Dorado, one of the last remaining traditional clippers, an art which is nearly extinct.

El vídeo también sirve como clase de esquila experta por Manuel Dorado, un fenómeno y de los pocos esquiladores que quedan hoy dia, un arte casi extinta.

Hello Ann. Thanks for your link. There has been quite a lot of publicity about this new role for donkeys in the past year in Spain and indeed it is very much needed. The latest fires in Huelva (south west Spain) are a reminder of the seasonal danger many of us face, living in forested areas and parts of the country now subject to extreme heat and water scarcity.
